HOSPITAL-ACQUIRED INFECTIONS ALERT: A WAR WHERE EVERYONE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

700,000 cases of hospital-acquired infections detected, 1% of which with lethal outcome; and Italy boasts the sad record of 7,000 deaths per year, being the third Country in Europe for antibiotic use.

Multi-resistant germs, against which the world’s leading experts in infectious diseases and immunological disorders raise the alarm. The most frequent infections concern the urinary tract, pneumonia, surgical site, sepsis. In most cases they are caused by poor compliance with safety standards: bad use of gloves and gowns, inadequate handwashing, instruments not properly clean.

We are all involved in the process of transmitting infections and we all have to do our part. XMed has found its way, providing sterile and single-use instruments and always looking for new solutions, aimed at optimizing the work of healthcare professionals. As regards to them, XMed invites to try out its products and think together about the best solutions for everyone. And what about patients? We must all be more aware of the risks we face and what we can ask our doctors and hospitals. WATCH this video on how infections are easily transmitted: XMed invites us to reflect on this.
